Whip Up Delicious Lo Mein in Just 15 Minutes

Here’s a quick and delicious 15-minute Lo Mein recipe that you can whip up in no time! All you need is soy sauce, sesame oil, a little sugar, your choice of noodles (ramen or spaghetti work great), and whatever veggies or protein you have on hand. It’s super tasty and easy to make.

Ingredients:

  • For the Sauce:

    • 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce (you can use regular if that’s what you have)
    • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
    • 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
    • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • 1 clove of garlic, grated (optional)
  • For the Lo Mein:

    • 4-6 ounces uncooked ramen noodles
    • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
    • 3 green onions, chopped (keep the white and green parts separate)
    • 2-3 cups of chopped vegetables (like carrots, red peppers, cabbage, bok choy, mushrooms, or broccoli)
    • 1-2 tablespoons mirin

Instructions:

  1. Make the sauce: Combine all the sauce ingredients in a jar and shake well.
  2. Cook the noodles: Follow the package instructions to cook the noodles. Once done, drain them and set aside.
  3. Cook the veggies: Heat the sesame oil in a large wok or skillet. Add the white parts of the green onions and the chopped vegetables. Stir fry until the veggies are tender, about 5 minutes.
  4. Combine everything: Pour in the mirin to deglaze the pan, then add the cooked noodles and about half of the sauce. Toss everything together in the pan, adding more sauce if needed until the noodles are a nice medium brown color.
  5. Serve: Top the noodles with the green parts of the onions and enjoy!

Feel free to add some protein like chicken or tofu; just cook it before the vegetables and add it back at the end with the noodles. This dish is perfect for a quick dinner and tastes just like takeout!
