Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Salted Chocolate Snack Bars that you can easily make at home. These bars are packed with wholesome ingredients like pecans, oats, dates, cocoa powder, coconut oil, and maple syrup, making them irresistibly good!

Ingredients:

For the crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 8 whole Medjool dates, pitted
  • 1/2 cup melted coconut oil
  • A pinch of coarse sea salt

For the chocolate filling:

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup melted coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup your choice of liquid sweetener (agave, maple syrup, or honey), adjust to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the crust: In a food processor, blend the pecans, oats, dates, melted coconut oil, and a pinch of sea salt until you get a sticky dough. Reserve about 3/4 cup of this mixture for later use. Press the remaining mixture firmly into a 9×5 inch loaf pan lined with parchment paper.

  2. Make the chocolate filling: In a small bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, melted coconut oil, and sweetener until smooth.

  3. Assemble the bars: Pour the chocolate filling over the crust in the pan. Crumble the reserved crust mixture on top and press lightly so it sticks to the chocolate layer. If you love sea salt, sprinkle a little extra on top for an added flavor kick.

  4. Chill and serve: Freeze the bars for about 2 hours. Once set, cut into bars and enjoy!

These snack bars are not only tasty but also a healthier dessert option that you can feel good about indulging in. Perfect for a quick snack or a sweet treat after a meal!
