Spicy Pork Delight with Just 5 Ingredients

Here’s a simple and quick recipe for Spicy Pork that feels like a gourmet meal but is surprisingly easy to make. This dish is versatile enough to be served in bowls, stir-fried with vegetables, or even stuffed into burritos.

Ingredients:

  • For the Sauce:

    • 2 tablespoons hot chili paste (sambal oelek or sriracha)
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
    • 1-inch piece of ginger, peeled and finely grated
    • 1 garlic clove, finely grated
  • For the Pork:

    • 1 1/2 pounds pork tenderloin, thinly sliced
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Extras:

    • 1 1/2 cups rice, uncooked
    • 2 carrots, sliced into coins
    • 3 cups spinach, cooked
    • 2 tablespoons green onions, sliced

Instructions:

  1. Combine all the sauce ingredients in a jar and shake well. Pour this sauce over the sliced pork and let it marinate for 20 minutes to an hour.
  2. Heat a cast iron skillet or another heavy pan over high heat and add a bit of vegetable oil.
  3. Once the oil is hot and shimmering, add the pork in a single layer. You might need to cook it in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan. Let the pork cook undisturbed for 1-2 minutes until it starts to caramelize, then flip it to cook the other side.
  4. Serve the cooked pork over rice with sautéed carrots and spinach. Garnish with sliced green onions.

Cooking Tips:

  • To achieve a perfect sear, make sure your pan is very hot before adding the pork.
  • For ultra-thin slices of pork, semi-freeze the tenderloin before slicing it with a sharp knife.
  • Be cautious of splattering oil—wearing an apron is recommended.
  • After cooking, your cast iron skillet might need some care to keep it in good condition.

This dish not only delivers on flavor but can be prepared in about 35 minutes, making it a perfect weeknight dinner that doesn’t compromise on taste. Enjoy your homemade spicy pork dinner!
