Imagine this: juicy grilled sausages paired with sweet bell peppers and onions, all nestled in a fluffy, toasted brioche bun and topped with a zesty aioli that really brings the flavors together. It’s a simple, delicious meal that’s just perfect for any day of the week.
Ingredients:
- 4 Mild Italian Style Chicken Sausages
- 2 bell peppers, sliced
- 1/2 an onion, sliced
- 1/2 tablespoon of roasted garlic herb grill seasoning
- Olive oil, lemon juice, and salt for seasoning
- 4 brioche hot dog buns
For the Garlic Aioli:
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1/4 teaspoon basil paste (optional, or substitute with fresh herbs)
- Salt and lemon juice to taste
Instructions:
- Start by making the aioli: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, garlic paste, basil paste, a pinch of salt, and a squeeze of lemon juice. Set this aside.
- Prepare the veggies: Toss the sliced peppers and onions with the garlic herb seasoning. Drizzle them with olive oil to ensure they don’t stick to the grill.
- Grill the sausages directly on the grill. At the same time, place the seasoned peppers and onions in a grill basket or a cast iron pan on the grill. Cook everything until the sausages are well-grilled and the veggies are tender and have nice grill marks.
- Towards the end of grilling, place the brioche buns cut side down on the grill to toast them lightly.
- Once everything is grilled, toss the peppers and onions in a bowl with a bit more olive oil, lemon juice, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
- To serve, place a sausage on each toasted bun, top with a generous helping of grilled peppers and onions, and drizzle with the aioli.
