Irresistible Soft Gingerbread Cookies Drizzled with Maple Glaze

  • For the Gingerbread Cookies:

    • 1/3 cup molasses
    • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (300 grams)
    • 2 teaspoons baking soda
    • 3/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 to 2 teaspoons ground ginger
    • Extra granulated sugar for rolling
  • For the Maple Glaze:

    • 1 tablespoon melted butter
    • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
    • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (180 grams)
    • 2 tablespoons milk (add a tiny bit more if needed)
    • A pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a stand mixer, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and molasses, mixing until well incorporated.
  3. Gradually add in the flour, baking soda, salt, and ginger. Mix until you have a soft dough.
  4. Form the dough into small balls, slightly smaller than a golf ball, and roll them in sugar.
