Festive Minty Chocolate Cake Truffles for the Holidays

Here’s a fun and easy recipe for Minty Chocolate Cake Bites that are perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix (or you can make your own from scratch for a 9×13 pan)
  • 1 can (12.5 ounces) of organic chocolate frosting
  • 1 cup of chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract
  • Almond bark for coating
  • Melted chocolate for drizzling
  • Sprinkles for decorating

Instructions:

  1. Start by baking the chocolate cake as per the instructions on the box. A little tip: underbaking it slightly makes the next steps easier.
  2. Once the cake is ready, crumble it into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Now, it’s time to get your hands dirty! Mix the frosting and peppermint extract into the crumbled cake. Keep mixing until you get a smooth, cookie dough-like mixture.
  4. Next, stir in the chocolate chips. Put the mixture in the fridge for a bit to cool down, which will make it easier to handle.
  5. Once the mixture is cool, roll it into balls and put them in the freezer until they’re solid.
  6. While the balls are freezing, melt the almond bark.
  7. Take each frozen cake ball and roll it in the melted almond bark. Place them on wax paper or foil.
  8. Drizzle the balls with melted chocolate, sprinkle some decorations on top, and wait for them to set.
  9. Finally, store them in the fridge or freezer until Christmas!
